Comcast SportsNet Houston, a new regional sports network launching Oct. 1, 2012, will be the leading destination for Houston and the surrounding-area sports fans to get exclusive regional coverage of the Astros and Rockets, extensive pre and post-game coverage, team and player programming, major collegiate and high school programming as well as the latest news and analysis of the teams and events that matter most 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is a partnership between the Astros, Rockets, and NBC Sports Group.
Can I watch Rockets
and Astros on any other channels besides Comcast SportsNet Houston?
The Rockets and Astros games are broadcast exclusively on Comcast
SportsNet Houston. However, a select
number of games may be picked up by national broadcasters like ABC, CBS, or
NBC.
Where will the
network be distributed?
The network is available to all local TV providers and is
seeking full distribution across the Comcast SportsNet footprint as fast as
possible. The network will be available
to all Comcast Houston video customers and is in active discussions with providers across the five state footprint.
That includes Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and New
Mexico.
Can I only see this
network on Comcast? What about if I have
Dish, DirecTV, or AT&T?
The network is available to all local TV providers so as
long as your provider carries it, you will be able to see it. Rockets fans can let their TV providers know
they want Comcast SportsNet Houston added to their channel lineup. They can do this by going online to iwantCSNHouston.com or calling
1-800-4-CSNHOUSTON.
Will the network show
Texans or Dynamo games?
We do not currently have plans to carry Texans or Dynamo games, however, we will cover those teams in the News and post-game shows.
