Season Pass: UNLV Women's Basketball

The Mtn. presents an insider's look into the UNLV women's basketball team this season with Season Pass: UNLV Women's Basketball beginning December 30 at 8:30 p.m. MT.

Season Pass is an extension of The Mtn.'s original program Reaching the Peak. After the most recent season of Reaching the Peak: Destination Omaha, featuring the TCU Men's Baseball Team and their run in the College World Series, The Mtn. decided to rename the show Season Pass. This season features the UNLV Women's Basketball Team and the Colorado State Men's Basketball Team. The CSU Men's Team is seasoned in the show, debuting the first basketball version of Reaching the Peak in the fall of 2008. The 2009-2010 season debuted Reaching the Peak's first season-long show with Head Coach Tim Miles and the CSU Rams. All previous seasons are available in a box set for purchase at The Mtn. Store.

The 2010-2011 season is the first year The Mtn. will have two behind the scene shows airing at the same time. The UNLV women's squad and the CSU Men's squad will have seven episodes each dedicated to their program.

Said UNLV women's basketball head coach Kathy Olivier: "We're very proud that the UNLV Lady Rebels have been chosen to be featured for this year's program. It's a unique opportunity for us to showcase our university and our team. We have a great group of ladies and I'm excited that our fans and viewers of The Mtn. will be able to see the growth of the program since I arrived here in Las Vegas two summers ago.

"This is a chance for us to show what goes on behind the scenes in a collegiate women's basketball program. It'll show how much balance our players must have as student-athletes, in terms of both their academics and also the athletic side. We have several outstanding storylines surrounding our players that we hope to show as the season goes on."

"I think it's great for UNLV to participate," said UNLV Athletic Director Jim Livengood. "It's a wonderful opportunity to show a lot of teaching and other activities. Some people tend to evaluate things in a left-right column; did you win or did you lose? But we know college athletics is about much more than that."

Elements in each show, and several found below, include a fun question/answer section with the players and coaches called :40 second shot-clock, This is My Game where players give the viewers an inside look at their specific moves, a breakdown of the roster by each player and Chatty Kathy a fun look at Head Coach Kathy Olivier. Previews of each episode are also available.
