This page is updated with cable and satellite channel listings for our high-definition broadcasts for the 2009 Football season as information becomes available.
HD programming availability and channel placement is at the discretion of your cable or satellite provider. If you do not see your carrier on this list please visit our distribution page and contact your provider. Let them know you want to see games on The Mtn. in High Definition!
Following is some quick information for your reference regarding high-definition telecasts of the remaining Mountain West Conference football games scheduled to air on The Mtn. beginning Saturday, November 14.
1. Studio programming inclusive of Mountain West Football Saturday, Pre-Game and Post Game Live and Halftime Live will be produced in standard definition. Only the live game coverage will be in HD.
2. DIRECTV will carry all nine football telecasts in HD on Channel 616-1.
Note: DIRECTV customers require a programming package (CHOICE or above in MWC DMAs or SportsPack for the remainder of the country) with HD Access and a HD-capable receiver to view high-definition programming.
Customers who do not see the 616-1 HD channel on their Guide or receive an error message should first attempt to reset their receiver or contact DIRECTV at 1-800-DIRECTV (1-800- 347-3288) and request to have their receiver reset.
3. Programming and carriage decisions are made by local service providers. Some have elected to carry all nine games available in high-definition while others will carry select games. Cable subscribers should check with their local service provider for service, availability and channel placement.
The following cable providers will be carrying all of the available games in High Definition:
|MSO||Market||Location||HD Channel #||SD|
|Baja Broadband||UT||St. George||131||31|
|Cable One||ID||Idaho Falls||431||329|
|Independent Cable Systems||ID||Soda Springs||101||66|
|Spanish Fork||UT||Spanish Fork||466||66|
|Sweetwater Cable||WY||Rock Springs||53||60|
|Sweetwater Cable||WY||Green River||53||60|
The following cable providers will be carrying a selection of the available games in High Definition:
|MSO||Market||Location||11/14||11/21||11/27||11/28||HD Channel #||SD|
|Comcast||UT||Salt Lake||BYU vs. UNM||Utah vs. BYU||6||37|
|Comcast||CO||Denver||2 Games*||1 Game*||2 Games*||664||411|
|Comcast||CO||Colo. Springs / Pueblo||2 Games*||1 Game*||2 Games*||701||167|
|Cox Cable||CA||San Diego||3 Games||4/704||320|
Again, it is important to be aware that separate subscriptions and applicable equipment are generally required to access HD programming.
Standard definition channel feeds and locations will not be impacted by HD carriage.
4. TV Guide sends out channel guide and information content weeks in advance. Because affiliate systems had until last week to notify us of their intent to take the HD signal, the channel guide information may not be correct for the HD channel the game is scheduled to appear.
Example: Comcast in metro Denver will carry five games in high-definition on HD Net (Channel 664). Since HD Net has a national presence, TV Guide cannot make any changes to the local guide to reflect the carriage of the game on Channel 664 even though the game will be airing on that channel location.
