Name: Jerry Hughes
School | Position TCU Senior | DE-OLB
Height: 6' 2" Weight: 22540 Time: 4.66
  • Former All-District RB out of Sugarland, TX, 4-year Letterman
  • Senior Season: 11.5 sacks, Lott Trophy, Ted Hendricks Trophy
  • Strengths: Relentless rusher, Quick corner turn, Explosive tackler, Excellent work ethic, Team player - Special teams
  • Weaknesses: Size maxed out, Transition to 3-4 OLB with pass drops and run take on.
  • 34.5" VJ, 4.15 short shuttle at Combine. Excellent predictors.
  • Projects to a 3-4 OLB or weakside rush DE in a 4-3 scheme.
 

      

Name: Daryl Washington

Height: 6' 2" Weight: 23040 Time: 4.54 (4.48)
  • Never regular starter before 2009, but extensive playtime.
  • Early special team phenom with knack for blocking punts (3 as Soph).
  • Senior Season: Leading tackler with 109, 3 interceptions
  • Strengths: Excellent length, explosive & quick, Excellent cover skills - runs like safety, tough & competitive.
  • Weaknesses: Somewhat undersized, strength at point vs blocks.
  • Played SLB in college but projects to WLB in pros. Versatility with coverage ability. Reminds me some of Ian Gold - DEN.
  • Possible early 2nd round. (4th OLB - 22 taken)
 

Name: Marshall Newhouse
School | Position TCU Senior | OG
Height: 6' 4" Weight: 32040 Time: 5.03
  • Texas pedigree of father John (3x Cotton Bowl w/ Houston) and nephew of DAL Robert Newhouse.
  • Tied with fastest 3-Cone at Combine of 7.40.
  • Senior Season: 3 year starter at LOT. E-W played all 4 positions on OL except OC.
  • Strengths: Good inline strength, can anchor in pass pro, uses length & hands well in run game. Speed & quickness for size.
  • Weaknesses: Inconsistent finish at times, some struggle in space, bad body (soft).
  • Versatility will entice clubs. Experienced player. Good mix of size and AA.
  • Projected 4th or 5th round. (12th OG - 16 taken)


Name: Clint Gresham

  • Senior Season: Invited to Combine as LS. (top rated)
  • 2007's Jared Retkofsky of TCU made PIT.
  • Lonie Paxton and Mike Leach have made nice careers in NFL. 11 years

  • Great heritage of TE's out of BYU (Doug Jolley, Chad Lewis, Itula Mili & the Mtn's own Todd Christensen)
  • Married & served 2 year mission in Dominican Republic.
  • Senior Season: 62 Rec, 829 Yds, 8 TD's (Jr. 83 Rec, 1083 Yds, 6 TD's)
  • Strengths: Crisp routes, length & snatch hands, up field quickly after catch, better blocker than most think, excellent character, tough, mature.
  • Weaknesses: Strength at POA, play speed to separate, limited 3 pt experience in offense.
  • Force as a natural receiver at position. Creates great match-up problems for defense. Will contribute immediately.
  • Projected 2nd & no later than 3rd round. (3rd TE - 19 taken)

      

Name: Max Hall
School | Position BYU Senior | QB
Height: 6' 1/2" Weight: 20940 Time: 4.87
  • AZST transfer after redshirt season & mission. Brother-in-law of TE Dennis Pitta, nephew of DAL QB Danny White.
  • 3 year starter (39 consecutive games), averaged almost 3800 yds, 31 TD's & 65% completion. Excellent predictors (games/completion %).
  • Senior Season: Top 10 in nation (pass yds per game, total passing yds, completions, total offense). Single season MWC record of 35 TD's.
  • Strengths: SMART, Ok release, mobility, leadership & tough.
  • Weaknesses: Some say age, arm strength, size.
  • Projected Late round to FA. Reminds me of Ty Detmer (20th QB - 15 taken)

      

Name: Manase Tonga
School | Position BYU Senior | RB
Height: 5' 11" Weight: 24540 Time: 4.86
  • Sat out 2008 with academic problems...Suspended a game in 2007 for off field incident (traffic violation & failure to pay fine).
  • Being projected to FB after playing RB in BYU system.
  • Senior Season: 305 rushing, 27 for 248 receiving, 8 TD's
  • Strengths: Receiving skills & route running, good hands, tough runner at POA, energy and attitude, married & father of two.
  • Weaknesses: In line runner, avg speed in open field, consistency as blocker for transition to FB, some ? reliability off field, age.
  • Projects well to position with size and receiving skills. Will need to improve as blocker to match former Cougar/Viking Fahu Tahi.
  • Projected 6th rounder. FB's hard to find. (4th FB - 9 taken)

        

Name: Koa Misi
School | Position Utah Senior | DE/OLB
Height: 6' 2 1/2" Weight: 25140 Time: 4.74
  • Father played for Hawaii, team leader in tackles for 3 seasons (great Utah defenses). Has played OLB, hand down DE and even inside as DT.
  • Senior Season: 71 tackles, 9.5 TFL's, 5 sacks, 3 FF's, 1st team MWC
  • NFL Combine: Tied VJ 38" & best BJ of 10'4", 4.27 short shuttle. Good predictors!
  • Strengths: Athletic, instinctive, versatile, explosive, zone cover skills, chase effort, character & work ethic.
  • Weaknesses: Primarily DE at Utah, bulk to play run as DE, no counter moves.
  • Might be as good an all around prospect as MWC has to offer.
  • Projected 3rd round. (8th OLB - 22 taken)

      

Name: David Reed

Height: 6' 0" Weight: 19840 Time: 4.58 (4.42)
  • Set JUCO record with 111 receptions in 2007 (10 games)
  • Senior Season: 81 Rec, 1188 Yds, 5 TD's, 1st Team All-MWC
  • Strengths: Big play ability, attacks/extends hands, route running, balance & effort after catch, KOR avg 24.12
  • Weaknesses: Slight frame, spread offense background - ?'s vs press, straight line speed, blocking consistency.
  • Stood out at E-W game, grew up in CT - moved to Pasadena CC - transferred to Utah.
  • Projected 4th round. Good #3 slot receiver and special teamer (15th WR - 34 taken)

        

Name: Zane Beadles
School | Position Utah Senior | OG/OT
Height: 6' 4" Weight: 31040 Time: 5.30
  • Thought about coming out as JR after '08. Great Sugar Bowl vs ALUN.
  • 4 year starter (3 at LOT), Struggled at OT in Senior Bowl (balance/str)
  • Senior Season: 1st Team All-MWC
  • Strengths: Good kick slide at snap, can anchor, rarely gets beat on edge rush, gd athlete w/ size inside or out, can combo to 2nd level. Excellent leadership & work ethic. Smart, All-Academic MWC - Mechanical Engineering.
  • Weaknesses: 2 pt stance mostly, position run blocker (showed in Sr Bowl), some question punch & in line strength, finesse blocker.
  • Draft process has hurt him some (combine & all-star), though still enough production and versatility to garner 2nd day selection.
  • Projected 5th round. (6th OG - 16 taken)

      

Name: Stevenson Sylvester

Height: 6' 3" Weight: 23740 Time: 4.76
  • Huge Sugar Bowl vs ALUN - 7 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 FR, put him on radar.
  • Senior Season: 1st Team All-MWC, only 2.5 TFL in '09. Played very well vs Cal in Poinsettia Bowl (8 tackles, .5 for loss, INT for TD).
  • Strengths: Active & flash playmaker.
  • Weaknesses: Durability, strength at POA, consistency.
  • Invited to the '09 E-W Shrine Game.
  • Projected FA. (30th OLB - 22 taken)

      

Name: Erik Cook
School | Position New Mexico Senior | OC/OG
Height: 6' 6" Weight: 31840 Time: 5.36
  • Team's MVP O-line, Offensive Player, Overall Player in '09. 3 year starter. Brother, Ryan - 2nd rd pick of MIN.
  • Senior Season: Only one sack and one penalty, 1st Team All-MWC.
  • Strengths: AA & flexibility, gd initial qks, takes gd angles, good hands and foot drive on contact, very smart, leadership.
  • Weaknesses: Pads get high with height, marginal foot qks as play extends, lacks speed on pull/trap.
  • Too tall at next level for OC, most teams projecting to OG. His versatility at all 3 positions will make him a valuable 2nd day pick.
  • Projected 7th round to FA. (21st OG - 16 taken)

      

Name: Cole Pemberton
School | Position CSU Senior | OT
Height: 6' 7" Weight: 31540 Time: 5.39
  • Struggled at the E-W Shrine game on the edge vs spd/power.
  • Senior Season: Only 1 sack (Jerry Hughes) & 1 hurry in 300 attempts.
  • Strengths: Length in pass pro, solid kick slide, tough & competitive, leadership (team captain).
  • Weaknesses: Can get high and off balance at times, pushed with power & struggles to anchor consistently, marginal athlete.
  • Reminds me a bit of Erik Pears - FA and eventual starter in DEN (now with OAK).

Name: Shelley Smith

  • CSU coaches call him the most talented OL on team. E-W Shrine game.
  • Senior Season: Started 8 of 9 games played (ankle inj out first 3 games), allowed only 2 hurries, OFF Captain with Pemberton.
  • NFL Combine: Tops in 40, VJ 34", BJ 9'4"
  • Strengths: Ok feet, ability to pull & adjust on the move, athletic, 3 year starter, leadership
  • Weaknesses: POA strength, struggles at 2nd level, durability
  • Draft process has "helped" him to date. Excellent Combine workout and solid showing at E-W. Old Denver Bronco type OG.
  • Projected 6th round (10th OG - 16 taken)

        

Name: Joe Hawley

  • 3 year starter between OC & OG.
  • Senior Season: ROG for '09. Benched 455 lbs & 33/225 for UNLV record.
  • Strengths: Tough, nasty, competitive. Good size. Effort in run game. Plays smart, works hard on & off field. Can long snap!
  • Weaknesses: Off balance at times, too aggressive, adjust in space, 2 pt stance in spread, not power blocker.
  • Short area player with position versatility in pros.
  • Projected 5th. (5th OC - 9 taken)

      

Name: Ryan Wolfe

  • Fractured his foot & missed final game of season and a bit behind in predraft workouts.
  • MWC All-time leader in receptions (283) - 12th in College Football History, 3X All-MWC, played in 47 games for UNLV - holds school record for receptions & yards (3,495).
  • Senior Season: 74/760 yds, 6.73 catches per game (17th nationally), six tackles & a pass breakup on defense. PRO Day - 33 ½" VJ, 9'10" BJ, 15/225
  • Strengths: Great hands, smart/instinctive, savvy route runner, competitive, tough after catch, work ethic & overachiever.
  • Weaknesses: Lacks top straight line speed to separate, avg athlete for position.
  • Has been compared to BYU's Austin Collie who had great rookie year with IND.
