FORT WORTH, TX - Preston Morrison tossed a complete-game one-hitter, while Kyle Von Tungeln had a career-high four hits to lead No. 20 TCU to a 4-0 victory over San Diego State Saturday afternoon at Lupton Stadium.

TCU (34-17, 17-6) will look for a share of the Mountain West championship Sunday when it hosts the Aztecs (24-31, 12-11) in the regular-season finale at 1 p.m. The Horned Frogs, in their final season in the MW before moving to the Big 12, won the outright league title in their first six seasons in the conference. TCU's senior class of Jason Coats, Zac Jordan and Brance Rivera will be honored in a pre-game ceremony.

Morrison, in recording TCU's first complete game of the season, retired 21 consecutive batters in one stretch. The freshman from Waxhaw, N.C., struck out five and did not walk a batter.

Morrison improved to 9-0 on the season, the best mark by a TCU pitcher since Matt Purke, also a freshman, posted a 16-0 record in the Horned Frogs' 2010 run to the College World Series.

The Aztecs' lone hit was a single up the middle by Spencer Thornton on an 0-2 pitch with one out in the second inning. San Diego State would not have another baserunner until one out in the ninth. Only three Aztecs reached base in the game with only one advancing to second.

TCU's 16 hits were its second most in a home game this season while tying for third most in a contest in 2012. Seven of the Horned Frogs' nine starters had at least one hit.

Von Tungeln's second hit of the game, a one-out double to right-center in the bottom of the third, scored Derek Odell, who had a leadoff walk to open the inning, from first for a 1-0 lead. Odell had a base hit later in the contest to extend his hitting streak to 10 games.

Von Tungeln equaled a career-high with two RBIs, while TCU freshman Kevin Cron also matched a career best with three hits.

The Horned Frogs extended their lead to 3-0 in the fifth with a pair of runs after two were out. Josh Elander singled for one of his three hits and came around to score when Coats drilled the first pitch he saw down the left-field line for a double. It was the 69th career two-bagger for Coats, extending his mark for the most all-time in Horned Frog history. Jantzen Witte followed with a base hit up the middle. As Aztec second baseman Tim Zier attemped to make the diving stop, he kicked the ball into left field to allow Coats to score from second.

Coats and Witte both had two hits for the Horned Frogs.

TCU's final run came in the sixth inning on a Von Tungeln RBI single, extending the Horned Frogs' lead to 4-0.

San Diego State starter Ryan Doran (3-6) went the first four innings, allowing one earned run on four hits, and took the loss.

The Horned Frogs, locked into the No. 2 seed for the Mountain West Tournament beginning Thursday in Las Vegas, Nev., will face San Diego State in the opening game.
