The San Diego State women's basketball team will have no time to ease into its 2010-11 campaign, as the Aztecs play host to the No. 16/15 UCLA Bruins on Friday at Viejas Arena for both teams' season-openers. Tip time is slated for 7 p.m., with the contest being televised live on The Mtn. with Tracy Warren and Andrea Lloyd calling the action.

SDSU and UCLA are playing each other for the first time since the 1999 campaign and the 26th time overall. This could be the Aztecs' first of three potential meetings with schools out of the Pac-10 Conference in the next two months, as they could face USC on Dec. 19, followed by a home game against Washington State on Dec. 21.

The Aztecs are coming off one of the program's most successful seasons ever, going 23-11 overall, winning the school's first MWC tournament championship and advancing to their first NCAA Sweet Sixteen since the field was expanded to 64 teams.

SDSU returns a trio of starters from that team, with all three being seniors, and six letterwinners overall. The Aztecs have been picked to finish second in the Mountain West Conference preseason poll in 2011, and for the second year in a row, are receiving votes in both national top-25 preseason polls.

Friday night's game with the Bruins will also feature a live audio feed with Josh Hoffman, as well as live stats, on goaztecs.com.
