ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The TCU volleyball team advanced to the semifinals on the MW Tournament with a dominating 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 27-25) victory over Boise State Friday. Jordan Raines paced the Horned Frogs with 14 kills.

Kristen Hester and Yvonne Igodan helped power the Frog offense with 10 kills each. Megan Munce dished out 39 assists, tallied four kills, four digs and two service aces. Meghan Horio led the Frogs with three aces and tied for the team lead with 11 digs. Sarah Joeckel also racked up 11 digs. Hester and Igodan were flying high in the middle with three blocks each.

The Frogs raced out to an early 10-2 lead in the first set and never looked back en route to the 25-19 victory. Horio served the Frogs to a 4-0 advantage, helped along by three attacking errors by the Broncos. The lead grew as the Frog hitters came alive at the net. Raines and Igodan blasted kills to put the Frogs in front 14-5.

After calling its second timeout, the Broncos found their stride and pulled back within four, 22-18. Hester squashed the Boise State rally and a blast from Raines gave TCU set point. Munce locked up the victory with one of her four kills in the match.

A much tighter affair took place in the second set as the teams battled through 13 ties and five lead changes. It was Boise State that took control of the set early, flying out to a 13-11 lead. From there the battle raged as the Frogs eventually tied the set at 18 on a kill by Igodan.

TCU finally gained the lead, 19-18, on a kill by Stephanie Holland. A solo block by Hester pushed the advantage to three and Sunstrum put the Frogs up by four, 23-19. A kill by Hester gave TCU set point and a service error by the Broncos locked up the 2-0 match lead for the Frogs.

Boise State fought hard in the third set, but the Frogs weathered the storm to complete the sweep with a 29-27 victory. Sunstrum knotted the set at 11 and back-to-back service aces by Horio gave the Frogs some breathing room at 13-11.

The lead continued to grow as the Frogs opened up a 23-19 advantage on an attacking error by the Broncos. Igodan gave the Frogs match point only to see the Broncos fight off three set points to tie the set at 24.

Again Igodan gave the Frogs match point, but the Broncos fought that one off too. Sunstrum rallied the troops and smokeda a cross-court kill for TCU's fifth match point and she teamed with Hester on a denial on the outside to seal the victory.

TCU (23-6) advances to face UNLV in the semifinals on Saturday night. The seventh-seeded Rebels upset No. 2 seed San Diego State in three sets in the first match of the day. First serve for the Frogs and the Rebels is set for 6 p.m. (CST).
