LARAMIE, Wyo. -- Alvester Alexander ran in a school record five touchdowns as Wyoming beat Colorado State 44-0 in the Border War rivalry Saturday.
Wyoming (3-9, 1-7 Mountain West Conference) broke a six-game losing streak while the Rams (3-9, 2-6) struggled on both sides of the ball.
Alexander ran in from 8 yards for the final score and the school record late in the fourth quarter. That followed two touchdowns in the third quarter.
He brushed off Colorado State defenders while running in 21 yards early in the second half. Less than 5 minutes later he ran in 29 yards for a 37-0 Wyoming lead.
Ben DeLine missed on a 42-yard field goal attempt for the Rams in the fourth quarter, one of the few times Colorado State got in range to score.
The Cowboys led 23-0 on three touchdowns and a field goal in the first half.
The game finished both teams' seasons.
