Dec. 8, 2011CENTENNIAL, Colo. – The Mtn. – MountainWest Sports Network premieres a fresh episode of Rivalries, powered by Sprint on Monday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. MT highlighting several annual rivalries from across the Mountain West.
Narrated by former Air Force Academy football team captain and Denver Broncos general manager, Ted Sunquist, highlights from the 30-minute program include:
• The annual Border War between Colorado State and Wyoming and the awarding of the Bronze Boot
• A look at the rivalry between UNLV and Nevada as the Wolf Pack prepares to join the Mountain West in 2012. The Fremont Cannon, awarded in the annual Battle for Nevada game on the gridiron, is featured
• The history behind the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy, which was created by former Air Force Academy athletic director, General George B. Simler, in 1972 and is awarded annually to the winner of the three-way series between the United States Air Force Academy, United States Military Academy and the United States Naval Academy.
